Our history
dates back to 1957 when G. F. Story, Therral Story’s father,
started Story Well Service as a one rig operation. The company had
grown to a six rig operation by 1974 when G. F. Story suffered a
stroke. In 1976 Therral Story assumed the position of Vice President
and General Manager. Under his leadership the company had grown
to ten workover rigs, three swab rigs, and two drilling rigs by
1982. At that time the Story family accepted an offer from Garvey
Industries, Inc. of Wichita, Kansas to purchase the business. At
the request of Garvey Industries, Therral Story remained as President
and General Manager of the company. In 1990 Garvey sold the company
and Therral chose to begin his own business, Therral Story Well
Service, Inc. initially with 5 workover rigs and one swab unit in
Magnolia, Arkansas.
In an effort
to be closer to the vast East Texas Oilfield, Therral Story began
Therral Story Well Service, LLC in 1997 with two rigs. This operation
is located north of Marshall Texas on US 59 North and has grown
to nine workover rigs and one swab unit.

Due to the increase
in activity in North Louisiana, in 2003 Therral established another
yard in Minden, Louisiana with 3 rigs initially. This market has
now grown to six workover rigs and one swab unit.
In May of 2006
the assets of the original Therral Story Well Service, Inc was merged
into the new company and then on September 30, 2006 Therral Story
Well Service, LLC was merged as well. The combination of these two
companies into one forms the basis for our 24 workover rigs, three
swab units and 17 heavy haul trucks.
On October 3,
2008, Complete Production Services’ Texas Division purchased
Therral Story Well Service, Inc. and now operates all of the assets
with the same crews and personnel under TSWS, Inc.
As our history
indicates, we are a company with an eye to the future. We have a
history of growth and with our outstanding employees and quality
equipment; we feel the future has never been brighter.
